In full support of The Dragon Kim Foundation – a 501c3organization that serves a unique and innovative approach to supporting youth exploration in sports, music and arts programs. Through the tragic loss of their son Dragon, Daniel and Grace Kim created a foundation in his name to support their dream that all kids deserved the benefit of a well-rounded educational experience. During his freshman year in high school, Dragon initiated a project to provide free after-school music instruction for elementary school students in Santa Ana. With Dragon’s passing – his work is carrying on and his legacy is broadening.

The Dragon Kim Foundation is committed to funding and creating programs that enable children to explore and pursue their passions within Academics, Athletics, and the Arts. The Dragon Kim Foundation supports:

• Music Programs
o Introducing music to young children. Working the Orange County School of the Arts,

The Dragon Kim Foundation is running full band and orchestra programs, with high school students volunteering as mentors. Students receive free weekly music instruction with the goal to build and expand this program to other schools and cities.

• Scholarships
o Each year the Dragon Kim Foundation gives out several significant merit-based

scholarships to talented and dedicated high school seniors that have pursued their

passions and with commitment.• The Dragon Kim Fellowship Program

o Awarding community service grants to support motivated high school students that want to develop and manage a service project to impact their community. The Fellowship program provides intensive leadership training, business training, mentors, and administrative support. Each project will receive up to $5,000 in funding. In 2017, 10 Dragon Fellows were funded – the goal is to fund 10-15 projects in 2018, building up to 100 projects a year in the future.

This year, the Dragon Fellows have been focused on running projects that address a COVID-ravaged world. Among other things, they've produced hand-sanitizer to provide free of charge. They've serenaded first responders to support them and show them their collective appreciation. And they've volunteered to manage the volunteer program with Delivering with Dignity OC, a group dedicated to delivering restaurant-cooked meals to the most vulnerable, house-bound members of  society. To date (mid September), the team has delivered more than 25,000 meals in Orange County and over 150,000 meals in Las Vegas!

We run a music program, a scholarship program, and a Fellowship Program. Our Fellowship Program provides teen leaders with leadership training, a mentor, and a grant of up to $5,000 to launch a service project that will help underserved communities.
